PHILADELPHIA, PA, August 30, 2007 – FirstGlance Film Festival presents a diverse program line up and cinema events that reflects its reputation as a leading exhibitor of independent films that filmgoers will not see anywhere else with 10 days of screenings and seminars in honor of 10 years in Philadelphia at the Adrienne Theater, 2030 Sansom Street, Philadelphia, Friday, September 28 to Sunday, October 7, 2007.

Friday, September 28th at 8:00 PM – Opening Night Screenin Screening includes the feature, Liar’s Pendulum, by Andrew Flores, the theatrical premiere of Alex Scott:A Stand for Hope, shot in Philly and directed by Larry Mendte, about a little girl with a dream to help children livecancer free and a lemonade stand that can do amazing things, the short, Razor Sharp, starring Michael T. Weiss, SHANK, a short about adolescent anguish, and music video Gone by local director, Andrew Watson.
Saturday, September 29th from 12 PM – 2 PM – Shot in Philly Seminar – Free Scheduled to Appear: Peter Leokum, Deputy Director Greater Philadelphia Film Office and Mike Lemon, Mike Lemon Casting A 2 hour panel discussion on shooting in Philadelphia from casting to production, permits to street closures,renting equipment, post sound and FX. This discussion will get you from script to post in the Philadelphia region.
Saturday, September 29th from 2 PM – 4 PM – History of Filmmaking in Philadelphia – Free Scheduled to Appear: Irv Slifkin, author of FilmadelphiaA 2 hour Q&A with the writer of “Filmadelphia,” Irv Slifkin. The historian of filmmaking in the Philadelphia area talks about the over 100 year history of film in the city of Brotherly Love and signs his book on sale at the event.
- Saturday, September 29th 5:00 PM Screening Screening includes the documentary, An American Opera, about people forced to evacuate without their pets after Katrina, the short, Bloom, starring Rhea Perlman, the video, Crazy Feeling, by Michael Licisyn, and the short, Granny D Goes to Washington, from Alidra Solday, both local directors.
- Saturday, September 29th 8:00 PM Screening Screening includes the feature, Midnight Clear, starring Stephen Baldwin and Victoria Jackson, by Dallas Jenkins and the short, Ms. Goldman, starring Adair Tishler from TV’s Heroes.
- Sunday, September 30th from 10 AM – 2 PM Writer’s Boot Camp Mini-Camp Seminar - Free Scheduled to Appear: Jeffrey Gordon, Writer’s Boot Camp Founder An event revolving around full and entertaining conceptual development, Jeffrey Gordon sheds light on some commonly held fallacies about writing for film and television and provides an introduction to potent tools designed to facilitate conceptual brainstorming and manage the resulting distinctions and decisions.
Sunday, September 30th from 12 PM – 2 PM - Alex’s Lemonade Stand Buy a lemonade to benefit Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for childhood cancer research.
Sunday, September 30th 2:30 PM Charity Screening of Alex Scott: A Stand for Hope Scheduled to Appear: Larry Mendte A percentage of the ticket sales for this screening will be donated to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.
