FirstGlance Brings the Festival to You With @homefilmfest Pay-per-Screening Online Festival
PHILADELPHIA, PA - May 22, 2007 – FirstGlance Films announces they will be the first independent film festival to be simulcast via the web through @homefilmfest.com during their 10th anniversary event in September 2007. The @homefilmfest will offer FirstGlance programs to consumers through pay-per-night screenings programmed on a specific date. The @homefilmfest employs the latest online technologies of Indiepix.net with the creative programming of indie film festivals like FirstGlance, bringing technology, indie filmmakers and audiences together for the first time through a virtual film festival that can be watched from their couch.
Here’s how @homefilmfest.com works:
Consumers can take part in selected worldwide film festivals in a simulcast type offering.
Film festivals will offer their programs to consumers by allowing them to pay-per night for the screenings programmed on a specific date. Consumers can buy one night, the entire festival, or pick from the festival calendar to create a compilation DVD.
Consumers will download the screening program of their choice and watch it in their computer, laptop or home entertainment center whenever they want - the DVD is theirs to keep. There are no cables, strings or boxes to control play duration. It’s 100% digital delivery with full screen video and audio capabilities.
Bill Ostroff, Director of FirstGlance Film Festivals said, “FirstGlance is proud to work with Indiepix to make our festival the first participant in the @homefilmfest. The @homefilmfest will offer film enthusiasts a new way to view indie films they may not see at a megaplex while at the same time providing filmmakers with a global audience.”
FirstGlance Film Festivals’ year round activities include:
FirstGlance Film Fest Hollywood, the Feature Screenplay Competition, the Short Screenplay Competition,
Online Film Competition, the DVD Compilation, Filmmaker Web Pages, and Short Film Productions.
In 2004, FirstGlance was named one of the 20 best film festival investments by MovieMaker Magazine. And, the Ultimate Film Festival Guide named FirstGlance as one of the up and coming indie festivals in the world.
Named “One of 20 Film Festivals Worth the Entry Fee”
Moviemaker Magazine’s Spring 2007 issue.
