FirstGlance Film Fest Philly 10 @ the Adrienne Theater
PHILADELPHIA, PA - March 12, 2007 – FirstGlance Film Fest Philly 10 announces its new home at the Adrienne Theater, 2030 Sansom Street, for its 10th anniversary event. The festival runs from Friday, September 28th through Sunday, October 7th. The 10th anniversary celebration kicked off in January with call for entries and a new website and continues with their feature and short screenplay competitions’ call for entries. FirstGlance plans to announce many more special events and guests in the coming months.
Bill Ostroff, Festival Director, said, “FirstGlance is excited to hold its 10th annual event at the Adrienne for 10 nights, our longest running festival to date. Adding indie film screenings to the Adrienne’s line-up of main stage performances and literary readings brings the art of cinema to a venue known for works of creative expression. It’s a perfect fit.”
The 10th anniversary celebration kicked off in January with call for entries (late deadline - April 1, 2007), a new, revamped website, www.firstglancefilms.com, and the festival’s first ever trailer competition, a no-entry fee contest for filmmakers to produce a 45 to 90 second trailer promo for the FirstGlance Film Fests.
Anniversary events continued with the call for entries on March 10th for the FirstGlance feature and short screenplay competitions. The top three feature scripts are read by Hollywood production companies and top producers in the industry including Boxing Cat Films (Tim Allen’s production company), Humble Journey Films (Eric LaSalle’s production company),Avalanche! Entertainment Producer Richard Hull and Madhouse Entertainment. All short screenplays are read by four Hollywood producers and the Grand Prize Winner will have their short screenplay co-produced by FirstGlance and premiered at either the Hollywood or Philadelphia Festival.
FirstGlance Film Fest Philly 10 looks to be the largest event in the festival’s history.
